White House memo

John Holdren, the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, invited the group to write a memorandum about suboptimal behaviors and practices that occur in the sciences. The memorandum (available for download below) describes these behaviors and their causes, and poses some potential solutions. It also highlights a way forward, emphasizing the need for further empirical research on which solutions or interventions will be most effective in improving the replicability and quality of science.
